Isn't stenciling easy to do? It used to be. Wall stenciling was pretty simple: you taped the plastic stencil to the wall, you loaded your stencil brush, off-loaded the paint, and pounced, pounced, pounced! To create a decorative border took a few minutes. Today, decorative stenciling has evolved to a sophistication nobody could have predicted. Stenciling with paint has become a real art form. To do wall stenciling, you have an intricate pattern that is die cut. Each pattern, kitchen border or floor decorative stencil has from two to five overlays. That means we go over the same surface two to five times when we creat decorative stenciling for you. Is stenciling expensive? It can be! If you are wall stenciling a wine niche in your kitchen, for example, there would be eight different stencils used. In each stencil would be 3 to 5 overlays. It would require using thirty different colors of paint to create the nuances of a wine niche pattern! Today, stenciling is all about shading with many stencil brushes, large and small. Decorative stenciling is usually priced by the square foot. The more overlays, the more passes over the same pattern surface. The prices run from $7.00 per square foot and increase with the intricacy of the stenciling design.
